Job Description


The maintenance department provides services for installation, maintenance and improvement of plant equipment and facilities.  The department is composed of three major groups, Engineering, which includes Electrical/Process Control and Mechanical, Maintenance which includes all of the major industrial crafts, Receiving and Storeroom.  The major activity of the Maintenance department is the installation and maintenance of production equipment requiring technical and engineering support for design, improvement, and procurement and troubleshooting of process equipment.

Project communicates regularly with the Enterprise Excellence Manager and other departments to determine the mechanical maintenance needs for all plant facilities.  The incumbent must maintain effective and harmonious relationships with all departments, based on prompt, courteous and effective service.

The incumbent assists in the preparation of cost estimates and authorization requests for management evaluation.  He designs, tests, and installs new and improved mechanical equipment that will increase the efficiency and performance of plant production processes.

Project attends monthly safety meetings whereby he contributes significantly to the planning of the Maintenance department activities and the formulation of Maintenance department safety policies.

Job Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a preference of six or more years of proven experience.  The incumbent must have and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and sound technical judgment.  Knowledge of human relations and the ability to work with all levels of plant supervision is essential.
