The Regional Business Development Architectural Manager will be the key connection to architects to achieve Flat Glass sales objectives in the Commercial Construction segment. The successful candidate will work to attain the Vitro Construction Marketing Team objectives by identifying and managing key construction projects in an assigned geographical territory. The primary audience will be architects, certified fabricators, general contractors, and owner /developers. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with channel influencers who develop and implement product specifications
  • Assist and direct architects through the product selection process for commercial projects
  • Direct architectural promotional and business development efforts in the region
  • Identify key architect, contractor and developer targets within the region
  • Coordinate development efforts with the Architectural Service Team to share and develop projects leads for the Vitro Certified Network in the given geography
  • Co-manage territory with the Commercial Account Manager to meet business sales and share objectives
  • Work with Commercial Account Manager to share targeted lead generations with the Vitro Certified Network
  • Along with the Commercial Sales Manager, every 45 days, review with the Architectural Development Director and Sales Director the project leads and channel activity
  • Develop and document business development strategies for each market within the region to meet business objectives
  • Utilize Vitro sales, technical service, and other functions along with Vitro Certified Network customers to close the sale on key projects
  • Build market knowledge and key business relationships within the territory to:
    • Identify growth opportunities
    • Support new product development and promotion efforts
    • Provide ongoing marketing intelligence
    • Participate in key industry events to represent Vitro at local,  regional and national levels
  • Travel will be at least 50%

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

Requires a college degree in business or technical field along with:

  • Market development or sales competency
  • Knowledge of the commercial construction industry, architectural glass fabrication or glass manufacturing 
  • Experience in business development, sales, marketing or equivalent field

Location: Mid-South geography of coverage is KY, TN, NC, SC.

Required to live in either Nashville or Charlotte geography. This position is to be a home office.

  • A proven self-starter able to work independently to achieve team goals
  • Outstanding organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and respond quickly to unexpected changes
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to understand, apply and convey complex construction related market, product, technical and design information
  • Attention to detail including potential ramifications of alternatives and strong follow-up
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple channel levels to build relationships and trust
  • Knowledge and experience in the construction or architectural channel
  • Management of multiple projects in the business development cycle valued at $20MM
  • Business development, sales, customer support or other customer facing experience
