Job Description
Vitro, North America's largest manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass is currently seeking a Tank Technical Specialist at its Carlisle, PA location. This position will ensure efficient integrated factory operations through coordinated team activities in the Tank Department, responsible for supporting and advising the line supervisors in the Tank and administers safety, 5s and training programs to maximize performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps coordinate tank operations
- Provides information for raw material scheduling and processing
- Manpower scheduling and coordination with supervisors
- Lean Manufacturing and 5s practices
- Assist in hiring requirements and scheduling preferences
- Updating and reviewing procedures
- Implement and oversee training programs
- Injury reduction and accident prevention including investigation,
- Meet and exceed industrial hygiene requirements and processes,
- Maintain compliance with all OSHA and Vitro health and safety regulations and requirements,
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree (preferred)
- 5 years manufacturing experience
- Exhibit leadership and administrative ability
- Glass manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience supervising employees and effectively controlling their activities
- Proven ability to maximize daily production goals and results
- Lean Six Sigma / 5S experience preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The incumbent works in a 24/7 glass products manufacturing environment with exposure, for example, to any or all of the following - Exposure to dust, moving vehicles, heavy equipment, moving machinery, chemicals (liquid, gas and solid) temperatures/materials in excess of 1500 degrees (F), broken and breaking glass, overhead cranes, confined areas, high noise, and the full range of ambient temperatures.
The incumbent must be capable of safely operating vehicles, observing and responding to the total environment, both stationary and moving; be capable of reading instructions and gauges; be capable of operating in “limited” spaces.
The incumbent will also operate in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and multi-function office machines.
