Job Description


Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing operations for the production of fabricated glass products for the Automotive OEM and ARG and related industries in accordance with established budgets and plant profit objectives.  Coordinates technology programs to ensure rapid and appropriate transfer of R&D efforts to production.

The incumbent directs the production and value-add operations at all US plants and satellites. Operations at Elkin, Crestline, and Tipton are engaged in the transformation of flat glass by laminating, tempering, or both, into a wide variety of products of use primarily in the automotive industry.  Such products of many configurations and designs are manufactured to close tolerances and in conformity with rigid industry standards.  The satellites are used for inventory management and to do value-added work. 

This position is responsible for planning and providing timely production and capacity to meet forecasted volume demands.  The incumbent is responsible for developing, maintaining, and motivating plant organizations which will produce a quality product at minimum cost and provide superior customer service and quality satisfaction; participates in and approves plans and procedures for changes in methods and techniques to improve quality, reduce costs, increase production, improve safety and industrial health, and otherwise improve the total manufacturing operation.  The incumbent is responsible for all launch and process development at all manufacturing/satellite sites. The incumbent has responsibility for all aspects of production development and launch, quality, capital, and capacity utilization of all facilities.

Authority and responsibility for all decisions of the facilities including but not limited to decisions involving Engineering, Production, Supply chain, HR, Quality, Safety, P&L and budget in collaboration with functional leaders and SVP Mfg. 



Job Requirements

Bachelors degree in engineering is required

15 years manufacturing, with progressive responsibilities 

MBA preferred
