The Automation Technician will work to develop and improve machine and process concepts along with several Manufacturing / Production Engineering peers.  He/She will debug and optimize automated processes to maximize cycle time, improve availability and yield to support a value add production facility.  Candidate will create and support a robust system and optimize layout electrical/pneumatic schematics.  He/She will program and trouble shoot all controls components including PLC, safety devices and robots from power-on to debug with ongoing support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process control requirements, layout complexity, cost, quality and lead time limits.
• Layout new industrial electrical control panels and create electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematics.
• Architect, write and debug PLC ladder logic with and emphasis on generating code that is organized structured, documented, maintainable and reusable.
• Implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, conveyors and other high volume manufacturing equipment.
• Introduce automated processes into production and train Maintenance and Production Teams to support after deployment into production.
• Debug and optimize automated processes to maximize cycle time, improve availability and yield.  
• Working closely with a Team of Technicians, Engineers and Mechanics to design, implement, maintain and improve our state-of-the-art processes and serve our customers.
