This position supervises the safety, quality, cost and timely design, installation and checkout of assigned electrical and process control systems for the production, fabrication and distribution facilities of the Vitro Architectural Glass business.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Evaluate production needs and problems and provide conceptual solutions
  • Design control systems for glass manufacturing processes
  • Program PLC, HMI, motion control systems
  • Create specifications for equipment procurement and installation
  • Understand networking concepts and work with network design and configuration teams
  • Supervise installation of systems
  • Startup and debug control systems

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Programming strength
  • Expertise in networking systems
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must possess creative thinking ability
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work to a schedule
  • Ability to supervise contract engineering services and installation contractors
  • willingness to travel 20 – 40%, primarily in North America
