The basic function of the HR Supervisor is to contribute to healthy employee and union relations in the Evansville facility, administer the labor agreement including guidance to supervisors, provide manpower to staff production and non-exempt employees, to administer absenteeism discipline as part of the attendance policy, counseling employees and their supervisors, backs up the HR Director as needed. Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Employee relations including grievance resolution and processing
  • Hourly and non-exempt staffing, including hiring internally and externally
  • Labor agreement administration including supervisor direction and training
  • Employee discipline including performance improvement and termination
  • Administration of the hourly attendance program
  • Assisting in administration of salaried and hourly policies
  • Oversees and backs up the payroll/production scheduling administrator
  • Oversees and backs up the HR administrator including benefits administration and job posting
  • Responsible for salary administration for all salaried employees

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications: 

  • The person in this position has plant wide responsibility and authority for directing supervisors in the administration of the contract and assuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Contract administration, grievance processing, employee relations, staffing
  • Makes decisions pertaining to contract administration and policy compliance
  • Works with Employment Office to recruit hourly employees
  • Requires a degree in Business or Human Resources Management/Industrial Management and experience in HR in a union environment.
