Job Description


Vitro Architectural Glass is hiring a Maintenance Electrical Engineer for our Wichita Falls TX plant.  The major activity of the Maintenance department is the installation and maintenance of production equipment requiring technical and engineering support for design, improvement, procurement and troubleshooting of process equipment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure safety goals requirements are met by engineering with safety foremost, educating fellow workers and P&M personnel on the procedures for safe operation and maintenance of equipment, and enforcing plant rules concerning safety, health and environment.
  • Promote emphasis on quality by performing engineering work that meets defined requirements, approaching tasks with a "do it right the first time" attitude, and a service orientation disposition toward the various production departments.
  • Conduct project engineering and project management utilizing recent technology to conceive, design, specify, supervise installation and troubleshoot plant process equipment for improved productivity.
  • Maintain control of expenditures on projects to remain within project budgets, also abide by Purchasing and departmental requirements to ensure proper and economical use of outside vendors and contractors.
  • Communicate regularly with the Enterprise Excellence Manager on significant maintenance functions and assist in initiating plans for the improvement and expansion of production and plant facilities. Assist in coordinating and scheduling of engineering and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and authorization requests for management evaluation maintaining frequent contact with purchasing and storeroom to ensure the availability of critical parts and materials.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and sound technical judgment
  • Expertise required ranges from computer programming for process control to control systems and power distribution
  • Knowledge of human relations and the ability to work with all levels of plant supervision, P&M personnel, external contractors and vendors is essential
