The Carlisle, PA plant is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll Specialist administers payroll, production scheduling, plant training, plant system administration, vacation scheduling and acts as an HR backup. 
 
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
 
  • Audits employee time cards to assure correct weekly payroll for hourly and bi-monthly payroll for salaried employees are all correct. This requires careful attention to approved employee time off (vacation, sick leave, FMLA, bereavement, military duty, unpaid excused days, Holidays, etc.).  This also requires a thorough understanding of the vacation provisions of the employee attendance policy.
  • Updates employee status in the database for employment status, promotions, supervisor changes, etc.
  • Using the production scheduling program, the vacation database, and in conjunction with the employee training database, the Payroll and Production Scheduling Administrator creates the weekly staffing schedules for all areas and crews.  This document informs employees and supervisors who and where the production employees are scheduled for the week, overtime scheduling, vacation administration and absence management.
  • Manages the plant hourly vacation scheduling system by accepting vacation applications and approving or denying according to area limits and/or employee eligibility and tracking vacation use.
  • Updates and maintains the employee training matrices, which includes documenting and filing completed training plans.
  • Trains all employees on use of e-time for either their own time or vacation reporting or to manage time cards for their employees.
  • Assures completion of all hourly employee performance reviews.
  • Backs up the HR Generalist and assists the HR Director with other duties.

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years experience in a payroll position required,  preferred using the following:
    • ADP eTime
    • Enterprise ADP/HR Payroll Systems
  • Proficient in MS Office- Word, Excel, Access
  • Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert for employees regarding payroll questions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure with strict deadlines
  • Must have excellent time management skills
