The Product Development Leader - Automotive Displays will lead the Displays Innovation Pillar for Vitro.  The incumbent will perform exploratory work to find and evaluate technologies for future automotive glazing displays. She/he will develop strategic partnerships with supply chain members to develop and industrialize display technologies.  She/he will develop display technologies to commercial ready status in accordance with the Vitro NP2 process.  She/he will work with Vitro commercial team to market and commercialize display technologies

This position may give technical guidance to professionals or technicians working on projects.  At this level, assignments are complex and require use of initiative and judgment.  It is expected that the incumbent would work in a manner of continuous improvement and document improvements to share with other innovation Pillars. The incumbent provides technical leadership, engineering support and recommendations to effectively utilize resources for product and process development to meet the needs and expectations of customers.

Responsibilities:

• The incumbent will define areas where Vitro can benefit from displays and lead development programs to do so.
• Activity will entail conducting work both internally and externally with customers, partners and suppliers.
• The incumbent will develop relationships with external entities to gain access to technologies and expertise which can be applied to Vitro’s needs.
• The incumbent will work closely with Vitro technology managers, manufacturing managers, marketing managers and account managers as required for supporting development needs.
• The incumbent will be accountable for all technical aspects of displays \ development and validation for commercial programs and will participate on Product Development Teams as part of the PGW product launch process.
• The incumbent will develop knowledge about Vitro manufacturing processes such that new displays can be efficiently transferred to manufacturing facilities for commercial production at minimum cost.
• The incumbent will create a proprietary position for Vitro through the filing of patents and development of trade secrets.
• The incumbent will also support business initiatives which require his/her expertise.
