  •  Quality concepts/background in a manufacturing environment, preferably glass industry with plant and customer focus. Must pass IATF Certification
  • Good decision making, interpersonal, time management and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Computer and Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the plant’s manufacturing process and ability to interact with plant personnel and customers. 

PURPOSE: Briefly state the job’s overall purpose, emphasizing the general function or duty for which this position is responsible.

  • This is a salaried position within the QA Department with responsibility for the quality tools and processes/application to achieve plant goals and adherence to customer quality requirements. Salaried QA Technician will Maintain IATF, track Supplier Quality, Internal LPA Controls, Update Work instructions and Control plans, New Model Tracking and SOR’s. Support/cross-train in one or more of the following areas: Product Quality, APQP, Samples, Customer Complaints, Corrective Actions, Reop and Re-inspection, Quality Service and QA related training.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Briefly describe the day to day role of this position.

  • Responsible for one or more of the following areas within QA Department - - - IATF Documentation control / Auditing, Product Quality, APQP (Advance Production Quality Process), Samples, Hold Area, Supplier controls, Customer Complaints, FFR reporting, Internal sorting, LPA Tracking, Corrective Actions, Reop and Re-inspection, Quality Customer Service and QA Training.
  • Works with suppliers, customers and internal plant personnel regarding quality related issues. May be asked to support supplier/customer visits to our plant and/or to attend customer site visits to address quality problems both domestically or international.
  • Serves on quality improvement teams with other plant personnel.
  • Develop and maintain QA related Standard Work documents on the Master Document SharePoint site.
  • Daily audits of QC Techs on the line to assure they are following Quality procedures
  • May cover Hold Area supervision during vacations/absences.
  • Conducts weekly Safety Interventions (MIPS) and focus on housekeeping in the QA Department.
  • Assists/trains Hourly QA Technicians as necessary.
  • Performs miscellaneous QA administrative duties as assigned.

  • Follows standard-work routines determined by the job process and plant needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Vitro Automotive operates complex automotive glass production facilities. This position is primarily located in an office setting in the plant; however, interaction on the manufacturing floor will be required on a daily basis. Safety equipment is required and provided.
  • The normal work week is daylights M-F with some off-hours or weekend work infrequently.

  • This position requires the ability to regularly sit, stand, and walk, for up to 8 hours per day.
