Job Description


The Quality Director will lead the Vitro Automotive USA Quality Organization to drive change to achieve Quality Excellence in the eyes of our customers. The incumbent will be responsible for building and executing a local quality strategy for the US Automotive business to support the overall Vitro Quality strategy, and maintain full accountability for quality performance related to the Global OEM and ARG Automotive business segments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Document and communicate Vitro's Quality vision, including Safe Launch Plans for new and/or transferred parts
  • Conduct weekly and monthly reviews of Quality metrics with each US plant
  • Create, document, and implement a Quality Operating System (QOS) following a standard cadence with critical internal and external KPI’s
  • Establish quality KPI’s for all functional groups including Purchasing, Finance, and Supply Chain, among others and ensure all associates have quality metrics in their performance and learning plans
  • Train commercial and manufacturing teams on the quality processes and customer systems and set expectations for basic quality training for Vitro associates
  • Work with Manufacturing and Commercial teams to establish annual quality performance goals that align the critical KPI’s for the company, customer and the long-term Quality vision
  • Ensure compliance of safety regulations and customer specific requirements for each part number in accordance with product specifications and drawings
  • Lead a layer audit procedure among all manufacturing facilities
  • Ensure all facilities meet or exceed customer audit standards (ISO/TS/VDA, etc.)
  • Engage in customer negotiations to reduce or eliminate the impact of corrective actions, customer sorts, etc.
  • Develop a “Voice of Customer” (VOC) capability to guide the organization, using leading metrics to exceed the customer expectations
    • Establish individual relationships with key customer quality executives.
    • Establish leading quality KPI’s tracking the performance of the organization before the customer is impacted
    • Establish the global field service team as the primary point of contact for day-to-day issues.
    • Establish a process to benchmark Vitro quality performance versus global competition
    • Communicate quality trends and distribute scorecards for performance at key customers
    • Manage customer warranty claims and corrective action processes



Job Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Quality
  • 10+ years of experience working in a Quality position within a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership position 


Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and foster teamwork
  • Effective leadership skills, demonstrated success in leading a team
  • Ability to drive change and influence others
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills
  • Spanish helpful
