The Quality Technician responsibilities include all aspects of customer and supplier quality, fixture management, plant calibrations and activities associated with PPAP and APQP.

  1. Participate and provide support in response to customer quality issues. Perform special studies as required. Lead improvement activities.
  2. Perform functions necessary to maintain the supplier quality system including incoming certification approval, defect review, follow-up to SNNs, communicating problems to suppliers and leading improvement efforts.
  3. Communicate nonconformances, prior run problems, potential failures, field problems and complaints to applicable people; utilize Quality Improvement Process to promote quality.
  4. Conduct fixture verifications and ensure compliance to engineering changes and specification controls.
  5. Utilize quality tools as resource in problem-solving and process improvements.
  6. Issue corrective actions for formal customer non-conformances; assist in identifying root cause and corrective actions; identify revisions to specification sheets and other applicable documentation which improves product quality and reduces errors.

Job Requirements

 

  1. Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, utilize analytical problem solving skills, and efficiently function independently as well as in a team environment.  
  2. A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years’ industrial experience in supplier quality programs is required. A strong working knowledge of quality tools and knowledge of APQP (PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Studies) is preferred.
